Healthy Chocolate Protein Smoothie

This is my go-to smoothie for spring! It's a nutritious yet light option for breakfast or makes the perfect protein-packed post-workout snack. Mint is known to aid in digestion and pairs nicely with the cocoa. And the avocado adds a healthy dose of fats and antioxidants that will help to keep you feeling satisfied long after you enjoy this delicious smoothie. The cinnamon is optional but I absolutely love the flavor plus it's one of the best ways to rev up your metabolism and maintain a healthy blood sugar level.

What you'll need (serves 1)

  • 1 C almond milk (unsweetened)
  • 1 scoop chocolate protein powder (I love Sun Warrior)
  • 1/3 avocado
  • 2t cocoa powder (unsweetened) 
  • 2-3 mint leaves
  • handful of fresh spring greens
  • dash of cinnamon

Directions

Start with the almond milk in the bottom of the blender then add remaining ingredients (except cinnamon) and blend until smooth. Stir in the cinnamon and enjoy!
